03What is EMDR therapy, and what can it help with?
EMDR is a structured psychotherapy approach that may help people process distressing experiences and reduce the emotional intensity connected to traumatic memories. Suitability is determined through an individualized assessment.
04What is neurofeedback, and how may it help?
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive form of brain training that provides real-time feedback about patterns of brain activity. It may be included in a personalized plan to support goals involving attention, regulation, sleep, mood, or resilience.
05Are conversations with my therapist confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is protected within professional, ethical, and legal requirements. Your therapist will explain confidentiality and its limits, including circumstances involving safety concerns, legal obligations, or required reporting.
06What concerns or behaviours do you address?
Our team supports children, youth, adults, couples, and families with concerns that may include anxiety, mood, trauma, attention, emotional regulation, behaviour, sleep, relationships, learning, and life transitions.
07What are your fees, and do you accept funding?
Fees vary by service and practitioner. Coverage may be available through extended-health plans or eligible programs such as ICBC, CVAP, FNHA, and other approved funding sources. Please contact our team to confirm current eligibility and coverage.
08What should I do during a mental-health crisis?
Touch Brain Counselor is not a crisis-intervention service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In British Columbia, call or text 988 for suicide-crisis support.
