Shiva Sherkat, MA, RCC — Psychotherapist & Founder, Touch Brain Counselor

As the Founder of Touch Brain Counselor, I am deeply committed to helping children, adolescents, and families experience meaningful and lasting change through compassionate, brain-based care. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and practice as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Psychotherapist. With over 15 years of clinical experience and having supported more than 100 children, youth, and families, my work focuses on guiding individuals through emotional, behavioural, and neurodevelopmental challenges such as anxiety, mood difficulties, emotional dysregulation, attachment concerns, and ADHD and Autism.

As both a founder and clinician, my vision for Touch Brain Counselor is to provide holistic, neuroscience-informed care that goes beyond traditional therapy — supporting the brain, the individual, and the family as a whole. I am committed to creating an inclusive, culturally responsive space where each client’s experiences, identity, and values are respected.

If you or your child are feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn, you are not alone. When you feel ready, I warmly invite you to take a meaningful first step toward healing, emotional balance, and lasting growth.

My Approach

I believe that lasting healing begins with understanding each person's emotional and neurological needs.

My approach integrates attachment-based therapy, clinical psychology, and brain-based interventions to support regulation, resilience, and healthy development. I strive to create a calm, attuned, and non-judgmental environment where children feel safe, parents feel supported, and families gain clarity, confidence, and connection.

Brain-Based Therapy

We begin by supporting nervous system regulation and brain balance. Through brain-based interventions such as neurofeedback and targeted therapeutic strategies, we help reduce anxiety, improve focus, and stabilize mood.

Goal: Create safety and internal calm before deeper work begins.

Evidence-Based Care

Using attachment-based and evidence-informed therapy, we build emotional regulation, coping skills, resilience, and self-awareness.

Goal: Equip children and families with lifelong emotional tools.
